Chrissy DeYoe

5th Grade Mentor

Chrissy has always had a passion for children, families, and education. She received her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Villanova University with a concentration in K-6th Elementary Education from Rosemont College. It has been her desire to teach elementary education while working to also effect change in impoverished communities through targeted programs and community outreach.

Chrissy has experience teaching children from PreK through 7th grade, mostly in Darby, Springfield, and Chester, PA. She spent several years working in Early Intervention, birth to 3-years-old as a service coordinator and waiver specialist in Philadelphia, and has also worked in the Foster Care and Adoption field as a case manager, trainer, and home study writer.

Chrissy has over five years of experience leading an inner-city children’s ministry program in West Philadelphia, serving children birth to 12 years of age, as well. She has been involved in countless VBS programs, community outreaches, and ministry programs for children, teenagers, women, and married couples throughout the years.

In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, painting, crafting, or taking Zumba classes at the gym. Since her senior year of high school, when she earned a scholarship to Moore College of Art and Design’s summer art program, she’s enjoyed wheel throwing and creating pottery too. She spent several years teaching classes at Busy Bee Pottery Studio since art has always been a healthy outlet.

Through her experience in both the educational and social welfare systems, as well as her devotion to Jesus Christ and ministry, Chrissy hopes to create a creative learning environment in her classroom as well as foster a culture that seeks to serve underprivileged communities through quality education and programming at Innovate Academy.

Chrissy currently resides in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, with her husband, Dustin, and three daughters: Ava, Isabel and Michaela.
